Yesterday was torturous, healthwise.
Upon reaching my in-law's place I began to experience shortness of breath.
It was mostly waiting for prayers (to the dieties) preparations in the morning.
After a sumptuous (but late) lunch, my stomach began to produce lots of wind.
From then on, it was a continuous 4 hours of belching and..., you know what. (My wife and I call it 'feel like a rocket').
In the evening, a different prayer was carried out - the Hungry Ghost Festival.
Red candles, incense, biscuits and lots of Hell notes, Gold ingots, clothings were burnt for our friends in the nether world.
Then it was dinner and back home. TV and bed ensued.
Yawn!...

Japanese ex-Boss
My ex-boss emailed me from Japan today.
Surprising. I just dreamed about him last night.
Think I'll be meeting the Malaysian Premier, Mr. Badawi soon.
Dreamed of him night before.
Tired neck, shoulders and need a good massage...

24th August 2002
Got a headache, neck-ache and painful eyeballs this morning.
The good memory for today is ..
.. its our 2nd year anniversary for knowing each other. Me and my wife.
24th August 2002, Saturday.
Was at Jaya's place till about 5pm. Went back for a bath.
Drove to town to meet my ex-colleague, who was to introduce me to his wife's sister.
Nearly got lost. Almost couldn't make it to the pre-arranged meeting place.
Fortunately, still made it, albeit late.
Thanks to my ex-colleague, now my brother-in-law, she is now my sweet wife.
I love you , my dear wife.

Kuala Kubu Baru
A leisurely drive to KKB on Sunday late morning.
It was a good trip.
The laid back, life in KKB.
The coffee shop - the tea, butter-kaya toast, homemade chinese herbal tea...
The chinese coffee shop styled restaurant...
The hainanese fare at the Rumah Rehat Kerajaan Golf View..
The kaya puffs at the local cake shop..
The fresh homemade kaya...
And all the friendly people of Kuala Kubu Baru.
What a place !

Dear Lord Krishna
Dear Lord Krishna
You are the Lord of the Universe, the supreme personality of Godhead. I offer my humble obeisances unto You.
My entire being depends on You, my Lord Krishna;
I helplessly cling onto you for love and protection all the time;
I helplessly cry in your arms for love and comfort;
I helplessly seek for you all the time.
Please may I surrender my life to you, my dear Lord Krishna;
Please may I always have you in my mind, in my life;
Please may I always be in your eternal love;
Please may I always be in your protection and care;
Please may I be in your care all the time.
Dear Lord,
Please, may my wife be protected by You always;
Please, may my wife be healthy always;
Please, may my wife be kind and thoughtful to me always;
Please, may my wife be loving to me always;
Dear Lord,
Please, may a healthy son be borned unto us soon;
Please, may our healthy son be brought up with ease and comfort;
Please, may our son be a devotee of YOU the Lord always;
Please, may our son be mindful of YOU the Lord all his life;
Please, may our son be good to the WORLD which belongs to YOU, our Lord;
Please, may our son be brought up by us with good morals;
Please, may our son be resourceful in his life and
may our son serve YOU, the Lord, in his capacity and means;
Thank You My Lord.

It was fun laughing like this again
Nope, no homecooked dinner last nite. Instead had pizza for dinner with my dear wife.
Followed by shopping. We bought a pair of slippers for me and some clothes for her and her niece.
Had a nice cool beer and muruku last night before bedtime.
Then just before bedtime, i laughed till my tummy ached just looking at how she exercised. She totally lacked the coordination.

Dinner
I am eager to go back and have a home cooked dinner today.
Most probably it will be fish, maybe steamed fish, I think. Vege and rice too.
My dear wife will cook of course.

Annoying interruptions
I have had at least 8 interruptions in the last 30 minutes of working on the company IT Budget.
I will never get any work done with all this going on.

Sleep Working
Like always, she nods sleepily on the dinner table, 'doing her office work'.
I am talking about my wife.
I said to her, "Today I discover a new variant of sleep walking - its called Sleep Working". She does it again later while reading the newspaper.
This morning, my tummy felt bad.
It must be the late, fast food dinner.
Fast food and instant noodles - I must stop these 2 types of dinner.
Late dinners (after 8pm) - I must make a long term effort to stop this unhealthy habit.
Got up slightly late. Tummy upset.
This spun me into a slightly foul mood this morning.
Must go back early today. But I want to pick my wife back from work - and that means going back early would be impossible.
Hmmm..

Xie xie ni
108 persons turned up for my 40 minutes presentation on Security this morning.
Quite a successful presentation, I must say. (Pat on my back). Just emailed my wife about it.
Now the HR system vendor is here to install the software.
I have to wait for them to finish their discussion first.
Discussions, discussions..
Last night after some discussion over dinner at home, I licked up the last morsel of food on my stainless steel plate, turned to my wife and said "Xie xie ni". [Thank you]
She turned to me, smiled and said, "Wuo na dan lai (hor)..." (I'll bring you the bill ?).

I will hunt you down, easily, wherever you are
"I will hunt you down, easily, wherever you are,
because you are such an easy prey", said Faridah Merican.
"Hey ! Don't underestimate me, ok, for not every prey is easily hunted..
so... don't play play !", said I.
"I can hunt you down whenever I want, and
I can hunt you down even when I don't want to...", said her again.
"Cause even when I called another Jason, I called you too, accidentally", said Faridah Merican.
Monday Blues
Had Bak Kut Teh for dinner after movies last night. This morning breath smells of herbs.
Legs still sore from the short run yesterday morning... Arghhh.
And its only Monday ! Grrr...

The Moon represents my heart
Thank God its Friday...
Reached office slightly later than usual, albeit still before office hours. My wife, however, is ten minutes late for office.
Thinking of Theresa Teng's song 'Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo Di Xin' (The moon represents my heart)..
"Why ? Is it because it is cold and coarse ?", my brother in law asked .
Well, looking at the world and our own space in our heart, I guess he is right.
Stay alive... hopefully i can watch a nice movie with my dear wife this Saturday.
God, I need You Always.

Yawn !
What a sleepy morning.
Internet was down for almost an hour today. When asked what really happened, the ISP guys said, "Our router hung". Reminds me of William Hung.
Today, my wife has to attend a client meeting. This means I am going back early and I am going to have an early dinner on my own.
It has been raining dogs and cats outside since noon and it's showing no signs that it will stop soon. I need to do some grocery shopping. Need fruits for prayers this Saturday.

Emergency Brakes
Had to slam on my emergency brakes this morning at the traffic lights.
The traffic lights were showing yellow, I was speeding to beat the lights.
An old lady crossed the road pushing her marketing cart, despite the red lights on the pedestrian crossing. Did not knock her down, also, fortunately no car was behind me.
My car radio cassette was playing the Hare Krishna maha mantra.
Hare Krishna !

False Alarm
Reduced dinner volume by about 30% last night. My wife asked me to eat more. I just shook my head and say 'No'.
Had a Milo (chocolate drink) concoction of 30% thick, hot Milo and 70% low fat, UHT milk before I went to sleep.
My wife woke me up an hour or so later.
"Dear , the alarm", she said.
Only then did I realise that the distant sound was the house alarm and not the alarm clock...
We scrambled down the stairs.
I checked the alarm while she sat on the chair. Don't know why the alarm went off.
Learned something new - the hash key "#" resets the alarm. Then it was back to sleep.
Goodnite, dear.

Tummy discomfort...
I seriously must give my stomach a rest.
I have been feeling bloated for weeks due to much eating. Ever since getting married to my wonderful wife, I have been overeating.
Breakfast - 20% more than before, including the extra 2 piece of bread I bring to the office.
Lunch - same as usual.
Dinner - 15-20% more due to our trying "not to keep leftover food". I know this is a very bad habit and I remind my wife not to cook more than we can eat, almost daily. (And also not to buy more than we can keep/eat.)
Supper/Snacking - Don't know why but I am getting this tendency to snack almost every night. I feel hungry even after I just had dinner. Must stop !
So much gas in the system I could take off like a rocket soon.
And tummy is uncomfortable.
Have taken 2 different types of pill :
- B&H capsule, a herbal concoction to prevent stomach discomfort by means of detoxification.
- Pil Chi-Kit Teck Aun after lunches to soothe the gaseous system.
It seemed to help.
But, I must, STOP this food excess. I am hesitant, but I know, that I must stop BEER too.
Burrp...

"It's people like you who degrade the entire human civilisation !"
I define arrogance generally as
"expressing subjective, personal opinion to others in intimidating manners",
"putting down of others' personal opinion",
"trying to air superiority in your subjective, personal opinion in public",
"Personal subjective opinions" is emphasized.
Some subject matters are more clearly defined while others are generally grey, hence are more likely to subject to personal opinion of the subject matter at hand.
Subjects like
"What car should you drive",
"It is time you replace your car now"
are subjected to personal subjective opinions.
Hence, expressions like
"You should be driving a better car ! I make it a point to replace my car every 3 years"
are clearly arrogant remarks.
I have a colleague who talks like this.
Sometimes, it can be very irritating.
Maybe one day I should say to him
"It's people like you who degrade the entire human civilisation !".
Cheers !

Thank you, dear.
Everyone is sensitive to different things. I am sensitive to certain things as well.
For example,
I am very sensitive to negative comments on things I have worked hard for, especially if the comment came from persons very close to me.
When I work hard for my wife, the least I can expect is a 'Thank you, dear' from her. But sometimes, I get rejections from her.She said to me the other day "Maybe you don't have to send me back from work next time since ... (whole list of reasons)". It would be nice to receive praises for things you do for others, but this should not apply to a relation ship between you and your spouse as whatever you do for her should rightfully be in the spirit of a long term commitment. So, saying "Thank you, dear" to her everytime she does the laundry is, in my opinion, not in the spirit of long-term commitment. Of course, that does not stop you from saying "Thank you, dearest" to her every now and then.
I often feel rejected and dejected whenever my wife tries to 'find excuses for me' to avoid doing something for her. Imagine, you want to do something for her with the objective of pleasing her. But she tells you that you that don't have to do this next time. No appreciation, just rejection.
That kind of thing hurts me.
I believe in communication. I tell her how I feel. Hopefully it will correct both our attitudes for the better over time.
Have a good day !
